Pascaline Marre lives and works in Paris.Her work explores the disappearance, real or imaginary, historical or fantasized. Her long term projects question the exploitation of man’s supremacy over a minority, whichever it might be, to sustain himself in
the collective fantasy of its survival.

Works in Progress
- 2011-present Asylon. Ongoing project on refugees who ask asylum in France. Series of portraits and testimonies, whose individual stories draw a picture, as a puzzle, on the difficulty for those new immigrants to find a second chance.
- Ongoing - Suspended Time : time seems to have stopped ; no more noise, no more odours, or they come from afar, from the meander of our memory ; the breath is held, a thin motionless state, a suspended moment.
Other Projects
- 2005-2006 Turkish intellectuals, actors of their history. Portraits of Turkish intellectuals fighting for a freedom of speech and the recognition of the Armenian genocide : historians, lawyers, artists, writers, editors. Article published in Europe-Orient, 01/2007.
- 2004-2005 Armenian vista, Armenia. Portrait of today’s Arménia rebuilding its history.
- 2001-2002 Rencontres à Domicile (Home encounters). Artistic project conducted with the painter Gaële Braun, and 100 inhabitants of La Courneuve, questioning the place of art in the private and public sphere.
October 2002 : exhibition at the Cultural Center Jean Houdremont, La Courneuve, France. Public and private funding. Articles ELLE, Libération, Le Parisien, Métro. - 1999-2003 Les Bonales. The day-to-day of a peasant family who chose a traditionnal lifestyle and farming in the south-west of France. Financial funding from Midi-Pyrénées region.
Short-listed for the Bleustein Blanchet for the Vocation Grant, 09/2001.
